What would you do with half a million dollars if you really wanted to make some waves? If you answered “I’d research and build a floating semi-sovereign state out in the ocean someplace” then you might consider pooling your resources with these guys. Wired.com ran an article yesterday about the latest investment of entrepreneur and venture capitalist Peter Thiel, who recently pledged $500,000 to the Seasteading Institute. The institute’s mission is "to establish permanent, autonomous ocean communities to enable experimentation and innovation with diverse social, political, and legal systems."
