Not all TJs do a bad job with signage
The TJs I go to in Santa Barbara has very good signage in both the fresh and frozen fish sections. I'd say the signs popped up about a year ago or so.

You can still go to your store...
We had a great turnout on the 24th and over the weekend! Thank you to everyone that participated! And though the "day of action" has passed, you can still go to your grocery store. Today, tomorrow, whenever you stop by to pick up some milk. The information's still on our website. And if you do go, please let us know how it goes.
Thanks again!
My father took the fish letter to Trader Joe's!
My father went this morning, and here's his report:
I delivered it to Trader Joe's on PCH in Long Beach, CA. In the fresh fish section, the warning was posted prominently. It wasn't in the frozen fish area.
At the Fish Market next door to Trader Joe's, I saw the warning poster after about 5 minutes of looking. It was shrunk down to about 5" x 7" size and about 10 or 12 feet from the customer area.
Are there regulations about the size and location of the posted warnings?
Small town story
Well, I have to admit, I was a little nervous to walk into the store - it's a small town, and everyone knows everyone.
But then I thought about the fact that people buy tuna there, and that some kids are eating way too much tuna and their parents don't even know that.
I realized even the store manager would agree that people have a right to know, so I went for it. :)
The manager was very understanding when I talked about kids health, and said he'd find a place to post it, but it may not be in the tuna aisle (they don't sell fresh fish). Well, that's a good start for a small town store.
If I can do this, anyone can. I hope others have similar success.
As of 11 am...
I went to two Safeways in DC this morning and it took me longer to lock up my bike than it did to drop off the letter. And judging by your comments, it's been fairly easy for everyone!
Here's some of your feedback:
"It went very well. The managers all took it."
"Manager will give it to higher ups."
"It went fine. I talked to the store manager and he said he would see what he could do."
After you drop off your sign, let us know how it went. We're trying to track how many stores we hit. Give us a call at (877) 7-OCEANA or fill out the form found at http://www.oceana.org/mercury/dayofaction or post something here.
